Wow, Jeff!

I've been on this site since 2009, starting with special needs kids issues, and things were very "local" then. Then new forums for other regions in the US came up, because of demand. But now DCUM is going international, it seems! Someone from Germany is asking about dental implants and bone grafting in the Health and Medicine forum. It's amazing to me that people can't get info and opinions in their own country. Anyway, this is a great site, very good answers here, but is it a greater challenge for you run this thing?? How are you??

I just went to find that thread. The poster may have lived in DC at one time. It seems that most of our international users had a local connection to DCUM at one time. Either way, if every thread was as helpful and substantive as that one, DCUM would be a breeze to moderate.

Moderation has definitely become a lot more challenging since the pandemic started. That brought out so many contentious issues. Then in addition, the country has seemed to go from one major controversy to another very rapidly. So there is always something setting people against each other.

All that said, I am doing fine. I'm glad you are still enjoying the site after so many years.

Am I annoying you with all the posts I report? Mostly it's to move something to a more appropriate forum or delete if you think it's a troll, but sometimes I'll report like four threads in the span of 20 minutes. Am I your favorite or least favorite for this?

I'm similar. But I make sure to put my name into every report that I make and I include my email. Jeff has chosen to respond to me every now and then by a direct email. I assume if he would prefer that I not report something or would prefer that I change my habits, he knows my email and he is free to send me a comment/suggestion/request/demand. I've been on DCUM since roughly 2010, and I've reported a lot to him.

I may post anonymously, but I have no need for anonymity from Jeff.

I appreciate your reporting. It is a huge help for me. I don't mind frequently reports. The only thing I prefer is that if a post is quoted in other posts, you mention that in the comments rather than reporting every post in which it is quoted. I prefer one report over multiple. The one exception is that if the quote is buried several pages later in the thread. In that case, I might not notice it.

I’m French. Years ago I spent 6 months in France and posted from there.

This is not new, OP. DC is a cosmopolitan city (embassies, corporations, non-profits) and people move back and forth.
