Are dogs allowed on restaurant patio’s?

Anonymous
Is there a Health dept rule about dogs on restaurant patios or is it just up to the establishment. There is a restaurant we like but I’m getting tired of people parading dogs around asking my kids if they want to pet the dog while we are eating dogs barking at each other etc.

I don’t get why people bring their dogs everywhere

Nope. Eat inside or talk to the manager on duty.

Didn’t say they weren’t. The opening question was - “is there a health code rule that dogs can’t be on patios.” The context clues were then the comments to eat inside or complain to the manager.

Depends on the dog.

They're emotionally stunted adults who need public attention wherever they go.

Patios. Not patio’s. Why would there be an apostrophe?

It depends on the restaurant. But a lot of people also prefer dogs over children too so I wouldn’t be so judgmental.

They are not only on patio, but people bring them inside. They print out a certificate with a dog's name on it and there's nothing we can do about it. Better to let the dog in than argue that the dog is not a service dog and that they simply printed a certificate.

I wish they wouldn't, because for every well-behaved dog who sits under the owner's table there's some yappy little mutt or a big dog who sticks his nose in my lap. I don't want my kid petting your dog right before we eat. I don't want your dog putting his face on my table. But AFAIK, there's no health code provision that prohibits them, so a restaurant can allow them if it wants.

Nor do I want your kids with their runny noses and dirty hands running and screaming around my table or bumping into me or grabbing my legs.

I'd make a complaint about the dogs and not return to that restaurant. It's disgusting when people bring their dogs inside stores and restaurants. Leave them at home!

It is up to the place. I hate it whether inside or out.
