A rave! We went to the DC Health covid center at 5335 Wisconsin this morning (Chevy Chase Pavilion building). There was hardly anyone there, maybe only 4 or 5 other kids came through while we were there (approx 10-10:30 AM Monday). Tons of Pfizer & Moderna available, no wait, people super nice, got a DC Health swag bag lol.
There are reasons nobody was there. Giving out swag doesn’t sound like enough benefits to outweigh the costs
What costs would those be? Actual bad things about DC Covid Centers or anti-vax nonsense? |
OP we had exactly the same experience in the Covid Center for ward 1 on 1000 U street. When we went, there was zero wait and only a couple of other kids waiting after getting vaccinated. It was amazing
The Arlington County clinic was similarly great.
The covid centers are awesome. We’ve gotten vaccines and testing there and they are super well organized and staffed.
We had a slight wait at the Ward 5 center, but it was a Saturday, so really not bad at all. Very lovely people, it went great.
The reason nobody was there is because there are lots of vaccine clinics, they are well-run, and the vaccine is widely-available in the District. There is a ton of demand and in DC there is supply to meet it. MD and VA have not done nearly as good a job as DC with this roll out. |
We had a great experience as well, OP.
I heard a similar rave review of the experience at the Ward 4 center. Sounds like DC is doing this right, and I'm so glad to hear it.
