I was having stomach pain for a while (it’s fine now) so my dr ordered a stool sample then called to say it was fine. I realized subsequently that I have no idea what the stool sample was really looking for - does anyone know?
Depends on what your symptoms are. I would assume blood in stool, white blood cells, bacteria that shouldn't be there.
Usually ova and parasites, stool culture, occult (hidden) blood, and a full series may look for fat, near fibre, whit blood cells, bile, and other chemicals.
Stool samples can be pretty specific (Meaning there is a white variety of things that could have been tested for), so that’s like asking what did they test my blood for? I’m not being flippant but you should be able to look at your print out of the results and it will show you what tests were performed.

+1 It could have been one test or a dozen tests. |
