Everyday Cross-Body Bag - Good quality

Help me choose, please.

I want/need a great quality, mid-size, crossbody bag. Leather. Budget anywhere up to $400. I've looked at Cuyana, Portland Leather, Parker Clay, and Clare V.

I'm leaning towards either Cuyana or Clare V., but am seeing what looks like really nice options from Portland Leather for way less $$$...which makes me question the quality.

Anything missing from my list of options that I should be considering? Or any reason I should take any of these brands off my list?

This is actually a bit under your budget, but I love my Lo & Sons Waverly - it can be worn as a "long" or "short" crossbody, as well as a wristlet or fanny pack:

If you go for Lo and Sons, look on poshmark. I sold a perfect condition one for about 100 recently when I realized I'd always grab another one on from my closet.

Np thanks for tip. Why weren’t you using the bag, and which style did you have? I hadnt heard of this brand until this thread, but the bags look great - nice leather, sleek and utilitarian design, well priced. I also love that the pictures/video on the site show you what fits in the bag style.

I have fallen down a rabbit hole of wearing my seasonal clothes (Having my "colors done") and I gradually transitioned most black out of my closet. It was a black saffiano and it was perfect for what it was, but I would never wind up using it again. I kept a brown one (Pearl) and it really is great for every day.

OP here - LOVE this. What I'm noticing is that I can get a great quality leather bag and don't need to spend hundreds of dollars - if I stick with Portland Leather and Madewell.
