Thrift store for tween/teen

Anonymous
Where is there a good thrift store in Montgomery County for tween/teens? My 12 yo is growing out of kids styles and growing fast. I hate to spend new clothes money on clothes she’ll wear for just a couple of months.

My teen likes Unique. The one on New Hampshire also has a value village next door.

My daughter loves Unique. She can spend an hour in there with a friend.

+1

There's also one at the intersection of Veirs Mill & Randolph.

I like the Georgia Avenue Thrift store as well.

And finally, if you have some time you could do a pilgimage to Laurel for the grand trifecta: Second Avenue Thrift, Red White & Blue, and Laurel Thrift.

Just fyi- thrift store prices are not the what they used to be. If a tee shirt was $2.99, it’s $7.99 now. If a hoodie was $6.99, it’s $12.99+. Bring something to donate because many will give a coupon along with the donation receipt to get a discount to use that day.

Op back- That beats the point of a thrift shop to me. For $12.99+ I can just go to old navy. I’ll check out some of these stores!

I love Unique but it’s become like Michaels. I only buy there with a coupon. Mon and Thurs are 25% off days. If you go a different day take something to donate like PP said snd get a 20% coupon. I haven’t seen tshirts for 12.99 it I frequently get my kid under Armour shirts/shorts for $4-$8

Wow, those quoted prices seem very high for a thrift shop. Aren't people donating more these days? Any time I try to drop off donations I am told to use the yellow bins or the green ones that pick up and sell the clothes in other countries. I have had a hard time finding legitimate places to take clothing donations.

I’m the one you’re quoting. I said hoodies, not tee shirts, are $12.99.

This is especially good for trendier stuff, because they won’t take anything that is older than a couple years old. I found some great running jackets and rainwear as well. But if you want funkier stuff, more traditional thrift-type stuff to repurpose, try Value Village or Goodwill. My

12.99 with $25% off for a good quality hoodie is still a good deal imo. Not a Walmart hoodie, I get under Armour and Nike hoodies in there a lot that look like new.
