I need a mom backpack. I’m not sure if I need a backpack purse or a real backpack.
It needs to be not huge like my travel carry-on backpack, but big enough for wallet, snacks, little first aid kit. I need it for kid sports, beach days, more active activities than a normal purse/bag are useful for. Even my cross body options are annoying me. Please spam me with your ideas. |
Yes! This may be what I’m looking for, thanks. |

I had a tumi one that converted to a crossbody sling. It was ok but too small. I bought a mini handmade Tibetan woven backpack with leather straps and bottom while at the beach. It’s compact but roomier. I would honestly love a tony classic jansport. Is that a thing? |
I have a nylon tote with adjustable straps and multiple zippers. It’s not a backpack but I sometimes where it as one (this looks stupid, I have no doubt). It cost like $20 and I love it more than any real bag. It is a seriously good assistant to me. |
I don’t have this exact bag but I have one that’s about the same size and shape and it works really well for my “mom bag.” Big enough to carry “stuff,” small and light enough to not feel cumbersome like a diaper bag or a large tote. |
After the diaper stage, I got a Baggalini Mosey bag that converts from a shoulder bucket-style bag to backpack. I have gotten so much use out of it. Perfect bag for chasing after preschoolers and icky bathrooms without purse hooks. Fake leather trim has held up shockingly well. Infrequently, I toss it in the washer on gentle in a delicate fabric bag. |
A "mom" backpack? You mean a biker backpack for chicks.
I use a small leather backpack that has zippered pockets, because you never know when you might take a ride on a motorcycle. I found it at Goodwill for 2 bucks. |
I use a nylon Tumi one (style is Cora) that now looks slightly too ratty for work but it's perfect for the playground. |
