I always had mild predictable periods before pregnancy. Sometimes I'd get a heavy period, but by and large they were manageable, and cycle length rarely deviated from 28 days.
While TTC, my cycles were all over the map, ranging from 24 days to as long as 45! After two pregnancies, my periods are considerably heavier and last a day longer; PMS is also markedly more unpleasant than it used to be (more irritable and severe cramping). Cycle length is back to being predictable again, but now it's more like 35 days on average.
So yeah, I've definitely noticed a change 2+ years postpartum. Couldn't hurt to ask your OB but I feel like changes are pretty common.
