Tried Uni for the first time and didn’t like it at all. It tasted rancid, did I get a bad one or is that how it tastes?

Uni should taste like the sea, salty and almost sweet

You got a bad one. They should taste sweeter than an oyster, creamy but never bitter.

Tastes like licking the floor of the ocean. Salty, filthy and slimy. But not bitter IME.

It did taste like the ocean floor, really salty but there was this rancid type quality to it where I had to spit it out. Maybe I got a bad one on my sushi.

Sounds like you got a bad one. I love uni—tastes like the sea, creamy, briny, and sweet.

I hate Uni - it’s seriously one of the few things i don’t like, but I’ve never gotten rancid. Just like gross salty sea foam and more than one makes me actually feel a bit nauseous. But not rancid…. Sounds sketchy and like it’s worth trying again somewhere more reliable.
