Neighbors invited us to join them at their private pool this afternoon. I've been by before (right when I moved to the neighborhood and didn't realize that the waiting list was over 100 families and you couldn't just show up) and there's a sign about membership and daily fee for guests.
I'm assuming that my family will pay for ourselves. Is this correct etiquette? Anything else I should know about being a good guest at a private pool? -public pool person |
| If invited they pay |
| They should pay. At our pool it’s only $5 per guest so no big deal. Don’t overthink. Just enjoy yourselves. |

We belong to a private neighborhood pool and have lots of guest passes build into our membership already. They probably do, too. But you can always ask if that is what feels most polite to you.
Have fun. |

You can buy food there, if it's available and they want it
enjoy! I hope it's not too crowded today |
| Usually it works with guest passes, but come prepared to pay, just in case. |
Ours is $7 for each guest and if you bring an entire family (possibly/hopefully multiple times in the summer) it adds up, so I'm hoping they'll let us pay |
| Pg pool used to be like 20 per guest on weekends lol |
| I bought a pack of guest passes for our pool, and would not expect guests to pay. |
Are you serious? No wonder my kid's best friend didn't invite him a lot last summer. |
| Offer but don't make it into a big deal. They get passes for guests or buy them and that's very common. |
| Don’t forget to curtsy, and remember not to get your towel wet. That’s considered very poor manners. |
Children weee priced between 5-10. It was reasonable. They even limit the amount of times you can visit as a guest. I have great memories of that place. …The summer featuring the girl next door . |
| At our old pool, we had an annual allotment of guest passes before we had to pay. At our current pool it’s only $5. We would pay for anyone we invited. |

I pay for guests, though I do appreciate when guests at least offer. You might ask about snacks — and if you can bring anything to share.
