They don't want funding at their kids' schools to be cut in order to fund MVA.

Nope just cut all the useless central office employees who do nothing to actually help students. Or stop hiring incompetent superintendents who get golden parachutes for covering up sexual harassment.

Seems like you should stop voting Apple Ballot then.

I liken the MVA proponents as alcoholics who don't want to admit they have a problem. People can leave their homes and still survive. MVA is only enabling a disabling obsession. Time to rip off the bandaid.

I'm not crazy about it either, but can imagine that not everyone wants this for that reason alone.

No, probably not all of them, but it seems to cover most of the most vocal parents and teachers.

Your obsession with MVA and the families in it is bizzare? Actually, some can't safely go in person and who are you to decide who can go in person and who cannot? It's not just about covid. You are the only one who hasn't moved on.

Their funding is not cut because of the MVA. If anything their school gets funding for kids not actually attending the school and it reduces class sizes so it's a win for everyone. The MVA budget is small, and the MVA students receive far less of their funding than in person students do. With MVA students returning in person, your class sizes will go up and funding will have to be spread amount extra students now.

It's odd that they can't even get a single family to come forward to explain why they can't send their kids in-person.

No way! Apple ballot is the best.

System-wide costs. It was still $5 million that wasn't going into schools.

That has been done extensively for the media. Odd that you can’t remember that. Sorry about your memory loss.

Like the family worried about peers giving fashion advice? Or the family whose kids are so sick with long covid that they can't go to school, but not too sick to go on hikes or to protests? Or the kid whose parents don't seem to understand how transplant waiting lists work?

I am not obsessed...just stumbled across this thread and decided to chime in. My first time (well actually now my second time) commenting on this thread. This is just an observation I make, and I have heard the testimonies and read the articles. I actually feel bad for these families, and honestly I couldn't care less about whether or not MVA survives.

Right. Everyone is wrong except MCPS administrators who know all. How is your beach “conference” this week?

Much better than your basement, I'm sure. It doesn't smell like cat piss, for one.

Why are you so obsessed with clothes? No one is worried about that but you've fixated on that as if it's real. It's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen someone do.
