| If you have made this switch, was it a good switch? What do you like or dislike about iPhone? I have had some version of the Samsung Galaxy Note for the past several years. Debating between a Note 20 5G or Galaxy 22 Ultra or some version of the iPhone. Definitely want a large screen. I wonder if I would miss the Samsung stylus/S-Pen. |
| You will not miss your samsung |
| I'd get Google phone |
Reviews seem to say those Samsungs are better from a tech standpoint. I could be off base, and I'm sure some will disagree, but iPhones kind of have a toy-ish/cartoonish look and feel compared to the high-end Samsung phones. They also still have that notch at the top, don't they? |
|
I made the switch about 6 months ago. It’s been fine. There are a few things I miss from my Samsung and a few things I like better about the iPhone, but the day-to-day experience is pretty much the same.
The biggest hassle was actually moving over all my data, apps, etc. Both Apple and Verizon have apps that should make the transfer pretty easy, but neither of them worked. The guy at the Verizon store was able to transfer over my contacts, but I had to add all of my apps to the new phone. Such a pain. |
Could you elaborate on what you miss and what you like better? |
Samsung used to have much better internals that iphones, but only because android used to be very inefficient compared to ios. Now that apple designs their own chips, the internals are comparable. A top of the line iphone will out preform a top of the line galaxy on benchmark scores now and it isn't particularly close. |
| I feel like most of the Iphone people have never had an android and just assume Apple must be better. My sister has an Iphone and thinks it is so easy to use. I think the same of my Android. I just like having all the choices and price ranges that come from multiple brands which is why I choise Android to start. |
| 99% of people don't use 99% of the features of their cell phone, it really doesn't matter as long as you can text, shop, take pictures and email. |
Samsungs look faster with better screens in some video reviews. Probably a matter of preference. |
| I switched and regretted it. I am happily back with a galaxy. My biggest peeves with iPhone (and the one thing holding me back from the Google phone) is all the corporate tracking followed by apps forced on your phone. My galaxy is simple, fast and I have it completely streamlined to only the apps I need, plenty of storage and amazing camera. No bothersome notifications or constant promps for iclouds and Google passwords (maybe that's what I hate most?). If Google and Apple are already integral to your life, get a Pixel (best pics, amazing phone) or stick with your iPhone. |
I did not know what a slow phone was until I borrowed an iPhone. Samsung is instant. |
You're not able to delete them? I like the option of the S-pen stylus feature but don't use it a ton. |
I can delete them on a galaxy but on the iPhone I believe Facebook and many other iapps would not delete (maybe they've changed that now?) |
Maybe, but the speeds can be tested objectively and the iphone wins. Samsung has a better refresh rate on their screen, iphone's are slightly sharper- so that's preference. https://www.pcmag.com/news/galaxy-s22-benchmarked-apple-still-beats-samsung |
