| Scheduled for a c at sibley. Provider says things rarely run on time. What have others experienced? How long has the delay been? |
|
If you are scheduled, you will get bumped if there is an emergency case that has to go before you. I was bumped about 2 hours. I tried to be as nice as possible. If I was the person who needed immediate attention, I would want that completed asap.

| I was delayed about 2 hours. |
| Mine was delayed about 2 hours as well. |
| OP here. Thank you all - that's helpful. I'm scheduled for the afternoon and a little stressed about not being hydrated after 8 hours no liquids. I imagine the IV will take care of it once I'm hooked up. Knowing that its about 2 hours relatively regularly will help me keep my head in the game. |
| Neither of mine were delayed but this was back in 2012 and 2014. |
| 2 hours here also, no biggie. They just hook you up to liquids and get you started on the prep. It’s sort of boring in the triage room, so bring your iPad. |
| There is only one OR for c sections at Sibley so if an emergency comes through you’re bumped. As others have said, usually not too long |
They’ll give you ice chips. You’ll be fine. |
My actual surgery was delayed 2 hours but they hooked me up to an IV in the prep room well before that. I had almost 2 IV bags before my surgery. |
| I was the person who needed the emergency c-section and probably bumped people...my water broke just over a month early and my IUGR baby was also breech. I was terrified. Thank you all for being so understanding! I am still so grateful for the care I received from the nurses and doctors at Sibley, even years later. |
| Mine in 2019 went ahead as scheduled - 1pm on a Friday. This time I'm scheduled for 8am on a Monday, so we will see! |
