Where is the best car loan rate?

Anonymous
We are eligible for USAA and their rate is pretty good, but wondering if there are any other, also competitive loan sources. Also, does loan rate depend on how much you put down? We will put down 30%, great credit rating, and high salary. In the past, we never financed a car purchase, always paid all cash, and now I see it that is not the smartest way financially.

Pay as little as necessary as a down payment.

Check with credit unions that you qualify for. Apple FCU had the lowest rate I could find a few months ago.

Not true. Even without taking into account dealer markup on financing.

DCU has decent rates. You can join with a very small one-time donation.

Why pay as little down as possible? How does that help anything? I put $20k down and used the rest in a low interest credit union loan. I set those payments up on biweekly (twice a month) auto payment. It’s helped my credit score greatly.
