Are 1st - 3rd classroom maximums 26 or 28?

Can anyone find a reference to current class size limits in ES in MCPS. The one I found is from 2095, when class limits went down to 26. Is this still the case or is the limit now 28?

I think at 3rd its 30!

And they are not absolute maxes...they are only guidelines. If there are a bunch of late enrollers or kids moving in during the year, you will not necessarily end up with an extra class.

Additional classroom teacher positions are provided to focus and Title I schools to Grades K–2 using a class size guideline of 18, to Grade 3 using a class size guideline of 24, and to Grades 4-5 using a class size guideline of 26.

The state of Maryland prevents negotiating class sizes.

The only caps that I’m aware of are in Focus schools where K-2 classes are capped at something like 17 kids and there is a permanent para that acts like a teacher assistant.

MCPS has policy to add teachers when class sizes in a grade get too large.

What about title 1 schools? Is there a para in the kindergarten or 1st grade class?
