Tell me your favorite restaurants to take your toddler

We've had a lot of success taking our 11-month old to the Rio (Uncle Rio's) in Bethesda. They're kid-friendly, the food is good and a good value, it's noisy, etc. We've also done well at diners in the area. But we're looking to branch out -- where else do you like to go? (DC, MD, or NoVA). Thanks.

Any Japanese steak house where they cook in front of you. My toddlers love watching the chef cook the food.

My toddler is terrified of the fire. Flips the EFF OUT whenever they make the fire/onion/smoke thing.

Comet Pizza on Connecticut Ave in Chevy Chase and 2 Amys on Wisconsin Ave (south of Tenley Town) are big family places for pizza. Cactus Cantina next to 2 Amys is also big. Cactus Cantina next to 2 Amys is also good.

Glad to hear we aren't the only ones! We took our DD and she was terrified! She's a tough little cookie so we were surprised that she freaked out. Unfortunately, we now have trouble in Mexican restaurants (Guapo's used to be a favorite!) because she panics when anyone brings fajitas out....I think she's waiting for it to go up in flames.

That being said, the Japanese steak house by RIO has tons of kids there. We've also had luck at Bertucci's in White Flint.

I live in Bethesda and I would say that before 8:00 p.m., almost all of the restaurants around Bethesda Row (with the exception of Green Papaya!) are full of families and very kid-friendly. After 8:00, most families go home and lots more couples are out.

When DC was a toddler (and I was a SAHM), large groups of us moms/toddlers used to descend on CAfe Deluxe for lunch frequently and they were always wonderful and accommodating to our madness
