water filter recommendation?

Anonymous
We used to get Ready Refresh (Nestle) but recently moved and I'm wondering if I can switch to a water filter system instead of having to haul the water into and out of our home.
On line I'm seeing recs for Berkeley filters, but does any have anything in their house that they like? Or is the conventional wisdom that subscriptions (spring water) is always better?
Complete newbie here to filters so I'd appreciate any recs. TIA!
