| Does Tauxemont have kindergarten? Any insights to the school? |
We almost signed up for this preschool. But when we went to the parent's orientation meeting we bailed out of it. The preschool required parents to be volunteers, help with everyday tasks, shoveling snow during winter etc. We switched to Aldersgate preschool and were really happy. |

Tauxemont is a coop. It’s crunchy and I like the vibe. Good reputation for preschool. Not sure about the kindergarten.
I know St. Luke’s has kindergarten, so you could check that out. If you are looking for an area preschool though, St. Aidan’s is the best, hands down. It only goes through junior kindergarten though. |
| St. Louis has a nice preschool. Good gateway to the K-8 school. |

Tauxemont is great! 2 of my kids went there for kindergarten. It’s play based and a mixture of Montessori, Reggio, etc. My kids are Middle school and junior high and still talk about Tauxemont!
PP isn’t quite correct about jobs. Every family is assigned a school job, but you see the choices and pick a few that could be a match. The commitments range from board members to making play doh every few weeks. Each family (so one parent does the session) is assigned 2 Saturday morning clean up days for the full year. You can also do buy outs for any or all of the jobs. Because many of the positions are done by the families, the tuition is very low. The teachers are wonderful and most have been there for years. |

I love Tauxemont! One of my DCs attended and it was wonderful. The teachers are great. You can pay your way out if the volunteer obligations, but it is a coop.
I disagree with the PP about St. Aidan’s being “the best hands down.” That is laughable. I actually hated the vibe there. You will probably like one or the other, but not both. |
| In the area, Tauxemont and St. Aidan’s have the best reputations. |
| Tauxemont is an amazing school. My DS went for preschool not K (though half his class was there for K). It was a phenomenal experience for him. Would recommend to anyone and the coop aspect is not onerous, though pre-Covid is does involve being in the classroom 1x or 2x a month. We loved it and it was way better than the preschools my other kids attended. |

| Yes. Tauxemont does have kindergarten, but like a PP said that class has both K and PreK students in it. It is half day - 8:45am to 12:00pm. The class usually has about 15 students. |
| My youngest went to Tauxemont, while my older kids went to Montessori and Waldorf. The older ones didn’t get into Tauxemont. I liked all three preschools for different reasons, but, in retrospect, Tauxemont was my favorite over the the other schools. There is a warmth and joyfulness there that the is hard to replicate. |
