Ideas for make ahead meals that can be frozen

Anonymous
I am due in about a month and I am looking for meals that I can make now and then freeze. Any ideas and/or recipes. Thanks.

Go to recipezaar.com. It's a great website with thousands of great recipes and reviews. There is a forum for OAMC (once a month cooking) that will give you lots of ideas for make ahead meals. BTW, you are really smart to be thinking ahead like this. I did the same and was soooo happy to have such easy access to good, wholesome food after the baby was born.

Any type of lasanga, stuffed shells, etc. can be frozen (don't cook before you freeze, then defrost before you cook).

Soups without noodles (chili, bean based). Actually soup with some noodles is OK if you don't mind mushy noodles.

Meatballs - freeze before you cook.

Marinate cut-up chicken in a stir-fry marinade. Then defrost, add frozen veggies and stir-fry.

Do take into account the size of your freezer. I know I started to do a lot of pre-freezing and realized pretty quickly space was limited (maybe you are better at getting things in there).

Don't forget to label with item, how to cook (so you don't have to look it up) and date.
