What to do with lentils

Anonymous

I was going to serve brown lentils tonight, cooked with carrot and celery and onion with some lemon-mustard vinaigrette on it.

This got voted out by everyone else in my family.

How can I make lentils edible?

Thanks!

We always do lentils with kielbasa but the recipe isn’t so different than what you shared minus the vinaigrette. Carrot celery onion and maybe tomato paste. The herbs
can vary I like thyme.

Lentil burger?

Put them back in the cabinet and save them for winter. It’s too hot for food like that. Order sandwiches or something.

Cold lentil salads can be very good. Ottolenghi has some good recipes.
I think the flavor profile of your original suggestion does bring cooler weather to mind.
This one is good too:

I toss them in my salads.

I've mentioned this on other threads but I do lentil taco filling. So yummy. But maybe that's for colder weather too.

I think your lentil dish sounds great, OP.

They make good pie weights. Or filler for a bean bag chair.

Curry, soy garlic lentils over rice (reminds me of Bon Chon), or add bulk to soups.
