| Please recommend for this summer! |
| I enjoyed Emily Giffins new book, “meant to be.” Loosely based on jfk jr. And Carolyn bessett |
|
Book Lovers By Emily Henry was so fun.
|
| So, kind of light and fun but still worthwhile? |
I liked this one too, but found the ending dragged and the main character became extremely unlikable. Still better than most beach reads out there. |
|
Catfishing on CatNet. I guess it’s YA but really good.
Lucky by Marissa Stapely Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau. The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz The Turnout by Megan Abbott. Darker but everything she writes is compelling. Matrix by Lauren Groff. More demanding but so good. Outlawed by Anna North. Amazing. |
| Cover Story by Susan Rigetti. This was a fun, quick read. It's perfect for a vacation book. |
| Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall. Romcom. |
| Daisy and the Six |
| I just read Sea of Tranquility, the latest from Emily St. John Mandel, and loved it. Up next: The Cartographers, by Peng Shepherd. |
I loved Sea of Tranquility, too. Remarkably Bright Creatures is sort of literary enough but also beach read-y enough that it might fit the bill! I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed it. |
| I stumbled into a stash of my mom's old Erma Bombeck books while visiting her a couple of weeks ago and laughed my head off reading them by her pool. I might start in on my dad's Dave Berry books next. |
|
I second many of the books on this thread and would add
The Change by Kirsten Miller "Big Little Lies meets The Witches of Eastwick—a gloriously entertaining and knife-sharp feminist revenge fantasy about three women whose midlife crisis brings unexpected new powers—putting them on a collision course with the evil that lurks in their wealthy beach town" Pretty Things by Janelle Brown "Who’s really following you on social media? The scam of a lifetime brings together two wildly different women in this page-turning thriller about greed, legacy, and betrayal from the New York Times bestselling author of Watch Me Disappear." The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah "Inspired by stories from One Thousand and One Nights, this book weaves together the gripping tale of a legendary smuggler, a cowardly prince, and a dangerous quest across the desert to find a legendary, magical lamp. |
What about Beach Read? That was my first thought when I read the OP.
|
| Agree with PP. I like all of Emily Henry's books, but Beach Read is her best. |
