Swim camp at the Y - what to expect?

DD is 4 and cannot swim yet. We are thinking about enrolling her in the swim camp at the YMCA and would like to hear from parents who have sent their kids there. In my home country, kids that age learn to swim/float in dedicated one week long classes. I understand that this is not how swimming is taught here. Is there any swimming progress that I can expect after one week of swim camp, or should I think about it more as fun childcare with water play.

I would arrange a few private lessons first just so your 4 year old is not afraid, and accustomed to being in the water with more than one other person.
