Mid-level steakhouse in DC?

We're looking to take my older teen to a steakhouse in DC for his birthday, but these fancy steakhouses are super expensive. Is there something more moderate that's not Outback?

Great suggestion, but I should have mentioned that we have been there many times and are looking for something different this time.

Mon Ami Gabi? Not a steakhouse but they have a lot of different steak options on their menu.

I really appreciate all of these recommendations. I think we're leaning toward St. Anselm right now, since we've already been to Le Diplomate and I like the vibe of St. Anselm from what I can see in the pictures. I also like the idea of going into DC, which would make dinner a little extra special, so that would rule out Mon Ami Gabi for us this time.

Isn’t that a hamburger?

How much are you wanting to spend? My husband and I recently went to St. Anselm and spent 250$ without much effort. We only got one steak (only entree), a couple of appetizers, and some sides. We also each had 2 glasses of wine. But still, St. Anselm is not inexpensive.

That is definitely more than we want to spend. I'll have to take another look at the menu. Thanks, PP.

Check out Bar Charley in Dupont... it's not only a steakhouse but the steak is good and it's a nice atmosphere. I think it's cheaper than St Anselm.

If you’re feeding a teenage boy, I’d go to Fogo de Chao.
