Questions about IVF charges - if you pay OOP

Anonymous
We pay OOP for IVF. Just wondering... what is typically included in the "IVF charge". I've been quoted different IVF rates by different clinics in the area -- usually around $9000 for a stimulated IVF. I assume that includes all monitoring, bloodwork, egg retrieval, and egg transfer... at a minimum. Does it also include the beta test(s)? What about a follow-up appointment with the RE if the cycle doesn't work? TIA!

We were OOP and paid $9000 at CFA, and it included all monitoring, blood tests, retrieval, transfer, and beta testing. It does not, however, include the stim medication, ICSI, blast, or egg freezing. They also have a $200 "orientation" meeting fee. I think those rates are pretty comporable to the other clinics in the area. I don't know if it includes a follow-up appointment with the RE because I got pregnant from only one IVF cycle. Good luck!

I think those costs are pretty standard. If you qualify for shared risk, it's a pretty good deal if you want to avoid the stress of wondering how to pay for multiple cycles. Good luck!
