I like to open the windows after a rain like this, to cool and freshen the house. But every time I want to open the windows I have to go around and wipe a ton of grime off the sills. Is that just what people do, or is there some cleaning trick I'm not aware of?
I grew up with sliding windows that didn't have much real estate to get dirty, but these double-hung windows really collect it. |
Typical. I run around the house with a wet paper towel to clean windowsills.
This is why I never open my windows (well that and the pollen).
I can’t see the dirty part easily from inside because there’s a ledge thing. So I ignore them except for every few years when I do speed and then clean them.
Typical yes but if you want to give them a good clean, remove the screens and clean the outside, assuming you can reach them
