This story, but most especially the initial three replies of Goulet insisting it’s all a lie, are utterly disqualifying to me. |
| Funny that this thread popped up again after getting deleted. I will just note the odd coincidence that every time Goulet gets a key endorsement, a weakly sourced hit piece shows up against him in WCP by the same reporter. |
That endorsement from the guy who lives nowhere near Ward 3 and voted to overturn the will of DC voters because he received $10k from a corporate lobby? No one who doesn't want Goulet elected doesn't want to talk about that. |
|
Goulet says, "I disproved your last article on racial insensitivity by releasing the actual video of what I said."
He answered a question about how to increase diversity in Ward 3 by talking about the problems of voucher recipients, which he reported were overwhelmingly black. He released a video which convieniently omitted the question because his response in context would have been absolutely damning. What an absolute tool this guy is. |
| To the young campaign staffer/volunteer whose boss told them to this here to make hay, mission accomplished. You can now log off and go meet your friends for a drink. Should still be able to catch happy hour specials at most places if you leave now. |
| Really. After all this, I am about ready to pull the lever for Goulet. And he wasn’t even on my short list before. |
And why not? He will be Ward 3's Trayon "Washington DC" White. We'll be hated by the rest of the city for electing such a clown, but at least we won't be bored! |
Goulet winning (which doesn't look unlikely at all) would be a disaster for our ward and our city. With the rate at which incumbents hold council seats here barring insanely obvious corruption, we'll probably be stuck with him for the next 20 years as well. |
There is audio. Goulet is lying. |
Well then, how about addressing his positions on the issues important to the ward? Why would he be a disaster? Housing? Development? Schools? Who would be better? Why? The mudslinging is not convincing. |
His gymnastics with the Foxhall neighbors about the new schools shows pretty clearly that he'll say whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear. |
So who is better? |
People who support public schools and are not backed by education privatizers. I'm voting for Duncan. |
I also am voting for Tricia Duncan |
I missed that in reading the article. Jesus. That explains why Goulet popped off so nastily in the comments. He was adamant he didn't say what is attributed to him. He tried to bully the newspaper. He must not have noticed there is audio. He is a liar and entirely unfit for office. |
