| We walk through the townhouses near the Vienna metro station and wonder how rich the people who live around here are... |
Have you ever considered minding your own business? |
|
We live in an average SFH in Vienna.
HHI varies a lot due to salary being commission based. 175-225K Net worth is about 1.75 m |
|
We were 225 and 100K when we lived in Vienna 6 years ago.
450 and 2m now. |
|
We are Vienna residents until this weekend when we move to Loudoun County.
I make 225-250/yr and DH makes 300-425/yr. To be honest I have no idea what our net worth is. I’m sure it’s gone down in the last 2 months! I do know we no longer have a mortgage and this is spectacular. |
| Retired in Vienna. Income around $250K, net worth around $15M. In a SFH, not a townhouse. |
|
Moved to town of Vienna in the late 90's and our combined HHI was 100k.
Current HHI is 400K, net worth is 3.3M. The gentrification within the town has been interesting to watch. I never imagined my quater acre lot would be worth $900K. |
|
OP, you can look up the cost of a house in the specific neighborhood you're walking through.
But as a former resident of that area, I can tell you that many of the townhomes near the Metro were purchased many years ago (e.g., in the 1980s for ~200k) and are now rentals to people who get housing allowances from their jobs, which has the effect of driving up rents. |
|
I find it interesting that you are in awe of the townhouses around the metro! There are so many posher parts of town.
To answer the question, mid-30s with an HHI of $600k and a NW of $2m + $700k equity |
Which part of town do you live in? |
I don’t think “posher” and Vienna belong in the same sentence
|
A part with $2-3m homes… |
What’s so great about those TH? You are easily impressed op. |
|
$400K on one income. $3.6 MM in assets before meltdown. $900K in equity. Early 60s so will retire soon (in 4 years or so). 4K a month in private pension or can take a lump sum upon retirement. Youngest kid will be a senior in college next year.
Wife has been a stay at home mom for more than 20 years |
| Don't know who the bigger fools are....the op or those answering |
