Why aren't parents an effective political group?

I'm just curious. I don't even think there's a group in American politics for just parents? Emily's List is for women. Mom's Demand is for gun violence. NAACP is for black and minority rights. ACLU is for civil liberties.

B/C we’re a geriatric-focused, child-hating society

Because I think once upon a time we had a shared vision of society - progress, education, science, trusting in institutions, hope for the future, etc - and that was enough. Everyone wanted things to be better. Then Republicans lost their damn marbles and here we are.

Because our society see parenthood as a personal choice and one that requires no support or assistance at all. Largely because men never had to deal with children or family as it was women’s work. Our society doesn’t value women or children at all.

No lobbyists! No big donations to candidates.

Most parents raising kids don't have enough money or bandwidth for politics.

“Parents” are not a monolith. A whole bunch of “parents” were very concerned about kids wearing masks to prevent the spread of a virus, while a whole other bunch of “parents thought that was just common sense.
