| Not pregnant yet, but hoping to be in the next year or two. We were trying to financially plan expenses for childcare. Wondering, how much do you spend? We own and live in DC, so will have to be paying childcare expenses here. ThNk you |
Thank you

Infant in daycare center:$2850 a month
Toddler at same center: $2200 a month Kids: 4 months and 3 years Center is in DC |
| $2275 for a two year old at a smallish center in Manor Park. |
This is more than I make a month. Wow. |
| $2500/month in California for an infant. |
Its soooo much! This is the highest I have seen (Goddard in Silver Spring is 2675 for an infant). I am pregnant and searching and am seeing range from $1400 for in home. A coupld of non-corporate centers around $2000 a month. This drops when the kid turns 2. |
| First in-home when DC was an infant was $1000 a month and amazing. She closed at the start of the pandemic. Second in-home also in Silver Spring was $1360 a month. Current daycare is a center in Silver Spring, $1500 a month for 2+. |
Sigh. OP specifically said DC. This is DCUM not CalUM. |

Downtown DC center in federal building for infant: $1000/two weeks
2yo at same center: $900/2 weeks Get yourself on a federal building waitlist; everywhere else I checked was way more expensive. |
| The opportunity cost of not working. :/ |
The Goddard School by the Wharf is $3000/month for an infant. It’s insane. |
| 3000/Month for a nanny. When we lived in the city and DD was a baby we were paying 2200/mo for home daycare. |
| About 50,000/yr for a nanny for 3 kids 5 and under |

3 kids: one in in home care, one in pre-school (full time daycare) and one in SACC after school care
$325/week; $495 per week for the other two = $3268 for 3 kids We live out in an Alexandria suburb. Thank fully two kids will be in SACC next year and only one in full time daycare. Cost will go down to $2900 per month! BUT then summer camp is way more expensive than SACC so that isn't factored in. Summer camp ranges from $365 to $500 per week per kid depending on where they go. |
