Breakfast for hotel stay - No microwave. Junk food like honey buns are fine with me, what else?

Anonymous
It’s for me and I’m a relatively picky eater. My kids eat cereal, I do not. But I’m looking for other ideas. I loved honey buns as a kid and could probably make do on those alone but I’ll be tired of them by day 5.

I considered making oatmeal raisin cookies before we leave for the trip, that I could eat for breakfast. I welcome other “breakfast cookie” recommendations.

I also don’t like hard boiled eggs so I’m much like a kid in the sense that I want “fun food” to keep and hold my interest .

you could get boxed milk, in single sized portions, and then have any cereal

Bagels and cream cheese, muffins, yogurt and granola, granola bars.

Pop tarts

If you have a fridge, bagel and cream cheese

Prepackaged smoothies (like the naked ones)

Cheese sticks

Will you be somewhere like a city where you could stop by 7 11 or Dunkin each day and get a donut, muffin or croissant for the next day?

Have you eaten honey buns often as an adult? I find them so artificial tasting now, and when the person suggesting you buy pop tarts and 7-11 baked foods says that, it might not be DCUM orthorexia.

Are you willing to use the in-room coffee maker as a source for hot water?

What do you eat for breakfast at home?

I’d probably bring yogurts, berries, bananas, and nuts. If I had time, I might make morning glory muffins.

Do you have a frig?

We always take granola bars and fruit for our trips. It’s something we or the kids can eat in the mornings when we are going to a restaurant or the rest of the extended group wants to “meet for breakfast at 9am”.

I always pick up yogurt and fruit after checking in. Also any crap food that tickles my fancy

Go out for breakfast. I’ve never understood long hotel stays only to eat sad food. I’d rather have a 2-night hotel stay eating good food than 5 nights with granola bars.

Instant oatmeal is my go-to at a hotel. Can bring your own and add hot water if it’s not on the “breakfast bar.” I like to add fresh or dried fruit and nuts, which are also easy to bring from home. Or peanut butter on toast. Like you, I’m not a big fan of most breakfast foods.

Tortilla, peanut butter and banana. Trader Joe’s cold brew (be sure to cut it with milk or water because it is intense!)

Cliff bars, granola bars, cereal bars.

Bread or bagels, and peanut butter.

Cereal that the kids will eat fry.

Muffins.
