Binchotan charcoal water purifying sticks

Anonymous
Anyone ever use binchotan to purify their water? It is extremely expensive for just 3 - 4 peices of charcoal, but they can last an entire year. You just keep re-activating the sticks by boiling and replace every 3-4 months. Binchotan charcoal some of the best on the planet, which is why you pay exorbitant prices, but it seems like it is far better for the environment than constantly using Brita filters they have all sorts of plastic waste and packaging waste. I'm also not keen on drinking liquids from plastic containers (e.g. Brita filters) now that we are seeing more and more evidence of microplastics in our drinking water they can come from plastic containers. So if you've used binchotan sticks, do you notice any difference?

It's delicious but I'm not sure if it filters out leas and parasites
