good luck getting off the LA waitlist. we kept asking how long it was so we could better understand our chances, and they refused to tell us, saying it's impossible to predict... turned out there were 50 kids ahead of us. $70 waitlist fee flushed down the toilet.

This is how I feel about the NIST daycare in Gaithersburg. There is a woman in all the local parenting groups advertising it as open to the public now. I can't tell if she's an employee or a parent but she suggests it when someone is looking for care right away. Curious, because I have never known anyone to actually get off the waitlist I called them. 44 people. 44 people on the wait list. It seems wrong to accept money to be on the waitlist they know perfectly well you will never get off of.

I think LA does have a cut off where they stop taking wait list names? I'm not sure about that though.

does anyone have a recommendation of one versus the other or is the sense they're both good/but different?

Little Beginnings is much more developmental and play-based. Outdoor play and social skills are promoted. Little Ambassadors is more academic. Depends on which approach you prefer. Kids need to play to effectively learn. Not sit at a table doing worksheets.
