Best College Admissions Counselor References?

Anonymous
Any recommendations from parents on this forum. Looking for top quality counselors who have experience with local area schools/students/college placement records. Rising Sophomore at Big 3. Strong student. We have just relocated to the US from a foreign country and are completely unaware of the local college admissions process. Aiming high. Who are the best counselors here? How much do they cost? Thanks in Advance.

College Admissions Counselors are the people who work at the colleges.

You're looking for an intendent education consultant, an independent college counselor, or a college coach.

We did not use, but Solomon seems ok IF you are lucky to get someone good. The problem is you never know who you’re going to get.

I frequently get their mailers. They seem to have a large team. Who is « good »?

How much are you willing to spend? It's like asking for car buying advice without stating your budget and must haves

Let’s say I don’t have an upper limit. Who would you recommend in that case from Solomon?

Also, he gives great free presentations in schools for parents. Tap him for that too. He gives excellent advice and tips. I followed a lot of his tips after attending some presentations when my kid was in middle school and they were really helpful.

I'm a public school parent whose kid is just about to start HS, so not familiar at all with the private school world.

So I'm honestly wondering: Don't those expensive private schools where everyone goes to college and where almost all the parents went to college have enough support and guidance? What more do you need?
