| I have the prescription already picked up. My symptoms are mild but I am definitely sick. Should I take it? The pharmacist was not helpful at all and the "provider" wasn't helpful either- it was a remote concierge prescription. |
| Yes! The point of Paxlovid is to prevent severe symptoms. The earlier you take it, the better chance of doing that. Why wouldn't you take it? |
| I wouldn’t. |
| no |
| It has side effects so I don't want to take it if I don't need it. I'm also put off that I was not able to talk to a provider about the NEED for it. |
Are you old and high risk? It’s not just pop a pill. It’s a serious medicine. If I didn’t feel like I was dying, I would not take it. I’m 45. |
| aaaaaa. I'm getting so much conflicting advice. I'm sick and I'm super stressed out. |
|
how sick are you?
I would not take that. |
| Everyone saying you would not take it....WHY? |
If the illness is mild, it may not be worth the side effects. |
Because if she’s writing on dcum she’s not that sick. If she’s obese and 70, then year take it, but for a healthy dcum mom, no, be sick for a few days and then it’s over. |
It may not be easy, though. I have young, healthy friends who were really sick. Not hospitalized sick, but sick nonetheless, and with lingering symptoms. What are the side effects that are so horrible? The bad taste? OP, frankly, it pisses me off that you would pick up a medication that isn't available to everyone who needs it and then not use it. That's wasteful. It's really lousy. |
In my defense 1. I'm sick so not thinking clearly. 2. I have a lot of people who love me screaming at me to get this medicine. 3. I thought I would be able to talk to a provider. I get what you're saying, but have a little grace. I've never had covid before so this isn't something I've thought out rationally while not feeling sick and being super stressed and trying to figure out how to care for my two kids (who are old enough to cook but not old enough not to leave a disaster) from my quarantine room. |
| I took it, also had mild case but my BMI is obese. The only side effect was some runs. I didn't feel worse after taking it. I did not rebound afterword (3 weeks post now). I would take it OP. good luck! |
| I am 55. I tested positive shortly after having symptoms; there is a good chance that they would not have become terrible given 2x boosted and general good health, but my chest was feeling a bit tighter each hour. I decided to take it. The symptoms other than exhaustion cleared up pretty rapidly, side effects were ongoing terrible taste and manageable GI stuff, both of which subsided within 12 hours of last dose. |
