DH is not great at words of affection and so I've decided to create a list of phrases he can use.
Since, I've been so deprived, I don't even know what I'd like to hear myself. Let's start with..."You look beautiful today...." any other suggestions? |
|
Will you really enjoy it if you know he's reciting a canned list that you came up with?

I'll pick and choose some. I don't care, not that we are all the same but there are only so many things you can say to a women that you are married to, right?? I've been waiting and hoping for so long, I just don't have time anymore with him. I have to explicitly state what I expect and want. |
| Occasionally, we sit at dinner with the kids and the game is to say something that you like about each person. My DH usually comes up with something pretty decent, since he doesn't want to tell our kids that he just likes my butt. |

"God Damn you look just as beautiful today as the day I met you"
"your hair looks pretty today" He compliments me daily. Not one day has gone by - that I can recall - in our 25 years of marriage where he hasn't given at least one compliment. |

“You are just an incredible person.”
“You’re the best snuggler.” “You’re an amazing mom.” |
GOALS!! |
awww these hit just right. |
| “You’re giving me a hard on.” |
| I don’t think it’s just the words, it’s the energy behind the words. My husband just absolutely adores me and he doesn’t need to say anything for me to know this. He tells me I’m beautiful and amazing, he supports everything I do, he’s so encouraging and proud and devoted - I think what you’re looking for might be about the energy rather than just the words OP. |
| "I love spending time with you" Given all the forced time together over the past two years this one really made me feel good. |

* you look great in that outfit
* that's a good view (when I am partially clothed or walking ahead so my butt is more obvious) * you're such a good cook * thank you for [running errand, doing annoying chore, etc.] * I love spending time with you (as PP mentioned above) * you're so strong (usually hiking or at other physical activities) * you're a really great kisser I'm more of an acts of service person but hope you get the words you're looking for, OP! |

Lol. I still remember the first compliment DH gave me.
"Wow, you look great. Are you wearing make up?" (realizes that is kind of insulting, so he clarifies). "I mean, like A LOT of make up?" |
