Impossible to say without knowing the model, mileage, modifications, and service history.
You can of course buy plenty of new bikes with modern safety features and warranties for that kind of price, most of which will be far superior in performance, reliability, and comfort to any 2005 HD. HD is more a lifestyle brand than a vehicle manufacturer. Their bikes are functionally inferior to most alternatives, but the brand appeals strongly to certain types of brand-conscious consumers who want to join a cultural movement as much (or perhaps more) than they actually want to enjoy riding. This is only to say that HDs may not objectively be good values as motorcycles; their value is more in their aura and brand mystique, not in any functional superiority over their competition. |
