| Dawn was horrible. |
Not surprising. She says so much without saying anything meaningful at all. Hot air just like all of her BOE testimonies. She claims to support teachers when she was one of the loudest voices against teachers during the pandemic. She is constantly trying to backtrack now in order to gain votes. She claims to want choices for parents and students but only if they align with HER choices. She wants to do away with virtual academy for certain grade levels because SHE doesnt think it's a good idea. (Nevermind the fact that MoCo was so behind the times in not having virtual options for all grade levels pre-pandemic.) She will definitely not represent the people in her district. She will be a voice for herself only. She has proven that her opinion is the only one that matters time and time again. |
| Why were there 14 candidates for one position last election and so few candidates this time even with 2 open seats? |
Because more people now realize it's a thankless job? |
That is absurd to get rid of VA when its a great program. She has no experience with it but wants to get rid of it as a talking point? Its 2022. Its great to have different options, especially given covid has surged three times this year. Sadly, she isn't even a voice for her own kids. She has no ones best interests at heart. |
It sounds like she wants MCPS to fund her mental health programs. Schools are for education and kids should be referred out for the level of mental health services. I also don't get where people are saying kids have been in virtual learning for two years, when school has been in person the entire year. |
| Her answer to everything was, "mental health." She could expound on much beyond that. I was very impressed by Joftus though which says a lot because I was really skeptical of him when he was selected to fill in on the BOE. I also liked Gianc(can't remember his name) but he was good - seemed passionate, smart and like a really hard worker. |
It is weird as mcps is about education. They are not social services. She has zero platform on education or academics. My kids don’t need mcps as therapists. They need them as educators. |
America thrust public schools into supplying social services decades ago. That horse is over the horizon. |
