or is it just "no going back" once the masks come off? we seem to be seeing more covid cases at our mask optional school - multiple exposures in a week |
Oh heck no. I am not going back and I am not making my child go back to measures that are completely ineffective. It’s all posturing and virtue signaling.
My 4yo runs around the playground and very sweatily and sweetly hugs his friends. Tell me that masks make sense there. Make it make sense daycares. |
Yes for adults and children. |
Ours went mask-optional in march and 2 weeks later went back to masks. Now mask-optional again, but after a bunch of covid cases they strongly encourage mask wearing |
So just a random antidote- ours went mask optional a few weeks ago did but only 2 kids out of 20 in my DC’s class have been going without masks, and by my observation the percentages in the other classes are similar. All teachers still masked.
And guess what- still a big outbreak there now anyway, and especially among the older classes where most kids have turned 5 over the course of the year and have gotten vaccinated. I’m just not sure masking is that effective with this age group given most wear cloth/surgical and how many times they take them off to eat/sleep. |
another random antidote. i live in south florida- my son's preschool class has never mandated masks. teachers all wore masks up until a few weeks ago. from march 2021-now, our class has had 1 closure for covid. and only 2 of the 14 kids tested positive.
i agree with the PP. i don't believe masks were effective for this age group. |
i mean anecdote! |
PP here and haha, that’s what I meant too. Damn autocorrect! |
