Schools in New England for a kid who skiis well but not highest level

Anonymous
Can anyone tell me about boarding schools in New England that would suit an avid downhill skiier (girl)? DD is not on the level of Burke Mountain Academy so what other options might be good? TIA.

I would look into Northwood. I believe they are well known for skiing. Suffield Academy and Loomis also have decent ski teams but I’m not sure how they stack up in the ski world.

Have teams and proximity to skiing and aren’t pre Olympic : Berkshire academy, holderness school, Blair academy (nj). North wood is IN lake placid and I think probably fields a high level team.

I have a friend with two kids at Brewster Academy that are both on the ski team. They’re not super competitive skiers. They ski because they enjoy it.

Overall, our friends love the school. Their kids are very happy there.

Be careful with Brewster. Ask about the average years of experience and tenure of the staff - e.g. what percentage of their teachers have been there for 5 years or more.

Thank you all! Any thoughts on St. Johnsbury, in VT?

Proctor Academy in NH.

Holdeness and Proctor have ski teams, best kids are competitive with the ski academies but there are lower level kids in the team too.
