Is my case hopeless? 40 with an FSH of 24

Anonymous
This is my first time posting here. I am 40 and just found out that my FSH is 24. This came as a total shock since I got pregnant so easily with my daughter in 2019. Of course I feel foolish now for waiting and everyday I beat myself up for not knowing this would happen, because I probably should have. I've met with an ER in the area and the plan is to run another 3 day test to gather my AMH amongst other numbers im sure, but to be honest, i was in shock so i didn't catch it all. I've since read It starts with the Egg and started everything mentioned there - CoQ10, E, C, D, DHEA, N-acetylcysteine, and Alpha lipoid acid. The ER gave me the adoption and DE speech which I would do if I really have no other options, but I want to at least try with my eggs. Hopefully after a few months with the regimen I'm taking my numbers will improve.

My questions are, are there clinics in the area that will work with my situation? I've heard SGF probably won't and my ER doesn't sound encouraging either. Should I go straight to the more nationally recognized places Ive seen mentioned here? I've also heard acupuncture could be helpful and would love to recommendations. Thanks in advance for any info you guys are willing to share.

Definitely go to Cornell or CCRM Lone Oak.

Where are you located if you want acupuncture recs?

If you got pregnant in 2019 quickly I wouldn’t lose all hope. Do you have regular periods? What’s your Amh? AFC? Ask them. How long have you been trying? Any chemicals?

I also thought Cornell when I saw the post title.

2:21 - Yes, I have regular periods and we've been trying since January. I had a confirmed miscarriage in April at 5 weeks and a suspected chemical/miscarriage in March (implantation bleeding followed by my period 5 days later). I decided to get tested in May and that's when I found out my FSH was 24. I'm due for another day 3 test next month and I'll have the remaining numbers then.

2:18 - Herndon, Reston, Tysons are would work best for me.

The suggestions are the SPECIFIC clinics that work with high FSH/low amh. It’s not about what is closest

You got pregnant twice in 4-5 months at 40. That’s very good. I would go to a place that’s most convenient.

keep trying, I am not sure IVF would help you

Probably hopeless. Try one or two cycles at the best clinic, then move onto donor. If you’re miscarrying, your egg quality is probably shot and you can spend years chasing one last good egg. Trust me, I’ve BTDT.

Good luck! I hope it works out for you.
