Rental Car - Covered trunk

Anonymous
Are coups/sedans the only way to have covered trunks in rental cars? We are going to be doing a road trip and leaving our luggage in the car on travel days. We were advised not to keep things visible. So, is that a NO on the SUV models?

Where are you going?

To help protect you from car theft better, never use the fob signal to lock your car.

Use the manual door lock to lock up.

This is always a problem when renting SUVs. I’ve probably rented 50+ and have never had one with the retractable cover. You may have to stick with sedans or not let the car out of your line of sight.

That’s kind of what I figured, but I haven’t rented one hour long time and the SUVs I’ve owned have always had aftermarket cargo covers. Looks like a sedan it is!
