Food shortages lately

Anyone noticing certain items being out of stock lately? I’ve had bad luck finding chicken thighs a couple times recently.

I think we need to start discussing this as "items out of stock" versus a "food shortage."

Op here. You’re right- I agree with that. If I could edit the title I would.

I go to Wegmans and they always have chicken thighs stocked to the brim: both regular and organic.

I've bought chicken thighs twice a week for years. I haven't failed to get any at Harris Teeter for the past two years

A odl thread..But topic is relevant even now. In a country of abundant foods in most areas but food deserts in other areas, do you think we will even have a good shortage in the DC area? A real shortage.

No.

I have noticed that the Whole Foods where I usually shop doesn’t seem to do overstock — like they used to pre-Bezos. They are often out of things like single rolls of their brand of paper towels or gallon jugs of water, or even their own brand of mayonnaise — so, things that I would view as basics.

This is true of whole foods. And certain days of the week.
