| Rain looks likely this weekend but i'm hoping for some moments of dryness! I have two older preschoolers and would like to take them to a farm to pick fruits this weekend -- have never been in this area. I'm in MoCo but open to going in VA too. Recs pls! |
| Isn't it too early to pick anything? It's only middle of May. |
| It’s too early, and more so with the cool weather so far. |
| Strawberries are open at Wegmeyer farms: https://wegmeyerfarms.com/ |
Anything similar in MD - trying not to spend any money in VA. |
Butlers orchard's website says strawberry picking opens soon |
| In Maryland, Larriland (http://www.pickyourown.com/) is great, but isn't open yet for the season -- they will open in late May for strawberries. |
| In Maryland, Shlagel is open for strawberries. |
| There will be some strawberries but waiting a couple weeks would be good. Everything is quite behind this year. |
You’re kidding, right? Well, no berries for you. |
It's too early. Wait until the first week of June. In MoCo, I'd pick Homestead over Butler. Butler is more of a corporation feel whereas homestead still has that family farm feel. |
Yeah, that's a good place and in Waldorf. Tip: always check their Facebook page for updates on conditions and what's available. https://www.facebook.com/Shlagelfarms/ |
