When is Little Falls Parkway going to re-open to cars on weekends?

It drives me crazy - no pun intended. I need to use that road daily, but because of some stupid covid-related initiative, it has been closed to cars on weekends so about 5 walkers and 3 bikers per day can have an open road to themselves.

Does anyone know when this will end? It's giving me stress.

Deal with it. There are plenty of other roads. I hope we close more roads for pedestrian use.

Just take Westbard. It's the same damn route.

Yes, it adds a tricky left turn somewhere on our route for my son, who has a learner's permit, to drive my husband to the grocery store on Sundays. However it's hard for me to fight against safe bicycling for kids on weekends. I won't fight it, and DS will have to learn his tricky left turn.

Have you tried breathing deeply? Thinking about how inconsequential the few minutes you spend taking another route really are? Imagining how others who use LFP on the weekends for recreational purposes enjoy it? Realizing that it's not all about you? (And, FWIW, I'm also inconvenienced at times by the LFP weekend closures, but, I know if I allow myself to dwell on that, I'll just be grumpy.)

It's hardly used by pedestrians/bikers on the weekend. Time to give it back to the rest of the driving world.

Keep it closed. It’s nice to have available as a safe space for children to play in.

It's so MOCO to close a major cut through road so people can walk! You have a whole trail there!

It's about to be closed for several months (Ridgefield Road).

OP I'm with you on this but I am afraid this may be permanent. It makes me glad I don't live in Kenwood since so much traffic now gets diverted through there on weekends.

True, Kenwood does see a lot more traffic now. Not great for residents.

I wonder how many extra tons of CO2 are emitted every year by that thousands of vehicles a day that need to drive an extra 15 minutes because of the closure.

When I was a kid we played in the creek next to it.

Same here, but I wouldn't do that today. I don't even let my dog go in that water because there are reports of various unhealthy things in the water.

Use the roads for cars and all the nearby parks for pedestrians. Someone should put a time lapse camera on it to show how little use it is getting.

Keep it closed.

For everyone that is commenting on the lack of use (unquantified btw) can pedestrians and bikes close roads to cars if they get little use?
