Formula shortage?

Anonymous
Is it just me or had it gotten much worse? We went to visit my parents for a week, came back and apparently my daughter’s formula is out of stock basically everywhere. My sister in law found two cans and we have one unopened can at home, so basically we have enough for three weeks. Luckily my baby is 8 months old so we only have four months of this to go.

I sort of feel like this is a Fox News talking point. I've seen formula on the shelf at Target, Safeway, etc. It might be a problem if you are looking for a particular/brand type, but I don't know that there is an ability to get baby formula in general.

Fox News? My daughter’s formula enfamil gentle ease is out of stock everywhere. I went to 8 different stores today and the shelves were bare. I just read a few articles about it and none of them were from Fox News.

The only parents complainnng are the ones with their kids on special Enfamil diets because they’re fussy otherwise.

They won’t die drinking regular formula, they will make their parents life hell though.

There are some babies who need special formula because they can’t take regular or can’t digest milk. Many minds of formula are out of stock or limited quantity.

Yes I have a baby who’s stomach settled only after we gave her enfamil gentle ease. I wouldn’t call her fussy because once we found the right formula she became the happiest baby ever Yes I know my baby won’t die if I give her another formula. However I would like to avoid it if at all possible! this is something recent. Before there was a shortage but it wasn’t that bad. This week the shelves are literally empty. It’s not just enfamil it’s all these different formulas. Something changed this week. Not sure what happened.

Enfamil neuropro gentle ease. Thanks! I left a message for my doctor asking what would be the generic equivalent. Hoping to get a list of equivalents that way I can just buy whichever one I find. I really did try hard to breastfeed! I remember telling my husband that my biggest fear is that we would be stuck in our house because of a storm and unable to get formula or stuck in an airport or something. Anyways I will keep a lookout for other generic equivalents and will keep searching!

Try a few different generics. We tried a bunch and kid liked Walmart the best but mine was super picky. You may be able to go with any gentle formula but it depends on your kid. If you call Similac and Parents Choice (Walmart) they also send out samples to try.

Thank you! Will do that! According to my pediatricians office they are no longer receiving more samples because of the shortage. But I will try calling.

Check out @theformulamom on IG she has generics matched to name brands

Our go to is CVS for formula, they keep it behind the front counter. You can usually check their app to see what’s in stock.
