When will your Federal Agency stop offering Telework? Is there a deadline?

Anonymous
My agency said this in only a trial period until September. They will review the Telework policy and decide whether to stop it or continue it in September.
Currently we are required to work 3 days in office and 2 days telework.

Same about the trial until September.

How much we can telework is up to our supervisor, but it is as much as teleworking 4 days a week depending on your position and supervisor.

We have always had telework option before Covid. My agency still offer the same option except now more people are doing it and more frequently. I am still doing 100% but have to go back next month one day a week.

My office within my agency is giving up it's office space and going to 100% telework.

I assume the deadline is when the Republicans win the presidency.

No way. Too late.

We are 3/2, also, but there's no end date. They might tweak the policy, but there's no built-in deadline.

We had telework 3 days a week before Covid. Now, almost all positions have telework 5 days a week and this 5 day a week telework is a trial until September. The hope is that everyone does well and we will be offered remote work after the evaluation. There is no talk of stopping telework.

Too late for what?

My agency has to do building updates. Facilities is saying 2027. Everyone supports telework (leadership included), so no push to get back sooner. We can have up to 20% in the office because only one out of 4 bathrooms areas is functional. Asbestos was found in two bathroom areas, so that has to be remediated. Not sure what happened to the other one. Roof has to be replaced (it leaks). Then some exterior updates. Then interior updates. I think someone in facilities really doesn’t want RTW.

We had telework pre Covid and will have telework post Covid. It won't be 100%, but since we have a hard time finding STEM feds, and a large majority of their work can be done at home, no one plans to end it.

Since our agency is short on space and people are two to an office, they are bringing everyone back slowly.

Agencies have been given the on high to start reigning in teleworking in the Fall.

We had 4 days a week telework pre Covid and will still have that. Almost everyone did it before. There are some rumors that we may get full telework options. I like working in person with people but 1 day a week does not accomplish that as you may never see your manager or team members who work on different days. There is not enough space to bring everyone in on the same day.

We have new union agreements that allow up to 8 days a pay period of telework (and fully remote work if approved.) You do have to be able to show that your work can be done from home, but that's trivial for most of us since we've been doing it for 2 years.

We are all 3 days telework, 2 days on and I think it's working great. My Department isn't reining in telework at all. I'm actually a little annoyed at all the people that they let go remote. There are so many that are in administrative positions and now I have to schedule a meeting with them to ask any questions. I'm not that annoying person that dropped by every 5 minutes or even every week, but it was nice to have a place to get information quickly. They don't answer phones and when you email them, they schedule a meeting in a few days or next week.
