This data is from 5/8/22, reported today. There have been 1558 active infections at MCPS within the last 10 days. This is 41 more than the day before. There were 121 new student and 32 staff infections reported on Mother's Day. Of 209 schools in MCPS, 42 (20%) are improving, 116 (56%) are steady, and 51 (24%) are getting worse.

These data are strange. Our principal sent out a note last evening citing a much higher number than what is listed here and saying they are going to increase precautions in some classroom.
I guess maybe there is a lag in reporting onto the portal? Principals get information before it is logged officially (?) |

I guess, for anyone that has a fear of numbers. But for people worried about severe illness, May will be fine. |

Severe illness isn't as much a factor as spread.. You may be ok getting covid, but I am not ok getting it from you. |

| I have long covid. My chest is burning and I can hardly breathe as I speak. I had covid 3 weeks go but it was mild. This new wave of horrible really sucks. I think I have glass lungs. Going in tomorrow to see if I can get an xray. Half the people I know have covid or just got over it. |
