| Is there any sort of required response time regarding a parent email at FCPS? Been waiting for over a week for response from an ES classroom teacher (with a second follow-up last week), but no reply or even acknowledgment of the email. Teacher has sent other classroom-wide communications in the meantime. |
| In general, 24 hours or one business day is reasonable. However, it may have gone to the wrong email address, or to spam, or the teacher may have missed it. Try double-checking the email address and resending. |
| You should have heard back by now. Send it again with a "hey, you may have missed this earlier" statement. |
That exact sort of follow-up email was already sent last Thursday afternoon. |
Then send another follow-up email today. If you haven't heard anything by midweek, consider following up with the AP or school counselor, depending on the issue. |
| They’re ignoring the email. (ES Teacher) |
| Call the office and leave a message. |
| What did the email say? |
48 hours is reasonable, not 24. Most teachers will respond in 24, but 48 is reasonable. |
| She may have missed it. Resend it. 24 hours is standard. |
Email again saying this is the third time you’ve emailed in a week. Copy the principal. Sounds like the teacher needs some support. —an ES principal |
You’re a principal? Maybe a troll? I would be so pissed if you were my admin. That’s not the type of support we need. -a real ES Teacher |
You’ve missed two emails and haven’t responded. What should this parent do to get a response from you? |
Seems like a reasonable step to me. The teacher has had two opportunities to reply. The admin above is probably correct and this teacher may need support. - a real HS teacher |
| OP, is it actually a serious request/question? Teachers are busy and burnt out. |
