Any consulting alum or current employees have experience or data about a competitive salary range for a Specialist Master role in Gov & Public Services at Deloitte (considering items below)? Also, any data-backed suggestions for the sign on bonus amount to request?

Given strong recommendation from within
Active clearance (tho want to depart from supporting these clients)
Fact that job market is hot

Middle of that band is low 200’s. Which works out to about 50 bucks an hour when you figure in total hours worked per year.

No way they will start a SpM from the government at low 200s. They'll offer you in the $150s.

On GlassDoor you can filter by SpM, DC area, and try to see what it's at these days. When I did the same, my offer was at the exact midpoint of my research.

Did Glassdoor show the differential for the clearance? No, it does not. But the salary bands do. And 150 is on the low end of the band for that level regardless of clearance.

Is a Specialist Master the equivalent to a Manager or a Senior Manager?

Senior Manager. More delivery and less sales.

How much is base vs. bonus? In my experience, bonus is like best case scenario if the firm does super well and you're in the top 5% of performers, so don't factor it in during negotiations.

Also, ask about your utilization target and sales expectations.

Differential for the clearance? Hahahahaha.

Signed, someone with a clearance

Senior Manager. More delivery and less sales.

This is incorrect on both counts. SpM = Manager, while Specialist Leader = Sr Manager. Sr Manager sales targets are higher than a Manager's sales targets. Sales are tracked formally in a system for SMs, while they are tracked only verbally for Managers.

Blind website. It has accurate info when it comes to my position and my husband. Both have advanced degrees and clearances

+1 this is correct. You are looking at a Manager equivalent. So my guess is $150-$180 base. Bonus typically 30% of base and it is being paid out to everyone at the end of May so you should ask for a large bonus now since you won’t get one for a year (and yours will be prorated when you do).

Advisory will also pay less than consulting.

What can one do to get to the top level of that salary before bonus?

Not go to Deloitte!
LOL. Jk. Kind of.

Have a competing offer. Pretty much the only way Deloitte will respond. And then be highest performer to get the best bonus each year. Keep in mind if D brings you in at the top of the pay band, you’ll see very small raises each year since they don’t have room to grow your salary until you get a promotion (in like 5 years). Still, I’d rather be at the top of the payband going in so negotiate hard if you can.
