Thoughts on SYC Girls Program?

| New to the forum and wondering if any SYC parents could give their thoughts on the program. My daughter has been invited to one of their 2010 teams |

| SYC’s 2010 girls first team is very strong, and will be the majority of the VA Union ECNL team in the fall. I don’t know for sure about their other teams, but I would assume that whole age group is competitive. |

Their top teams are good, however, there is a huge gap from 1st team to 2nd and 3rd teams.
3rd teams are basically glorified ($$$) Rec teams. That's for both Girls and Boys. |

| SYC girls top teams are definitely strong at pre-ECNL levels. McLean players who want to play ECNL will need to tryout for multiple ECNL clubs when getting to that point and not just VA Union. My sense is the dynamics of which club contributes the largest percentage of the ECNL girls rosters will shift in the years ahead. |

Boys focused club with poor management on all sides. Girls second teams are always short players at nearly every age group except Ulittle where parents have no idea what they’re walking in to. Player pool method would likely serve the players better and motivate them to work hard all year to earn opportunities in top level of play.
